IMPORTANT INFORMATION - 04/09/2020

We wanted to let you know there has been a significant rise in positive Coronavirus cases in

Caerphilly town in the past week.

Investigations from Public Health Wales suggest a lack of social distancing by a small group of people in various locations has resulted in the spread of the virus to other parts of the population.

We want to make an appeal to you.   You can  help us reduce the spread of the virus.  Maintain social distancing, wash your hands often, wear a face covering when it is hard to social distance, GET A TEST IF YOU HAVE SYMPTOMS and self isolate if you are asked to do so by a contact tracer.

Temporary drive through testing centre opens in Caerphilly County Borough

A new drive through testing facility at Penallta House council offices in Ystrad Mynach has opened in response to a raising rate of coronavirus cases in Caerphilly, and due to significant demand for tests at the temporary facility outside Caerphilly Leisure Centre, which will remain open for another week.

Book an appointment  - Call 0300 30 31 222 between 8am and 6pm.

There are strict safety measures in place to protect both staff members and people coming for a test.

If you have symptoms of Coronavirus, however mild, please attend for a quick, safe test.

The drive through testing centre will be at Penallta House council offices, Tredomen Business Park, Ystrad Mynach, CF82 7PG.

The opening hours will be 09:00- 18:00.

The additional drive through testing centre is being opened to make it as easy as possible for people to have a test if they are showing Coronavirus symptoms, no matter how mild. You must arrive in car or small van.

The test centre is only for residents of Caerphilly County Borough and ID checks are in place.

If you are unsure about the symptoms, please use the NHS Wales online symptom checker, or call 111 for help and advice.

For people who live outside the Caerphilly County Borough area, there are other testing facilities available in Gwent - at Rodney Parade in Newport and Cwm in Blaenau Gwent. You can also have a test posted to your home. Apply online at www.gov.wales or phone 119.

Coronavirus is very easy to catch and can be fatal.

We all have a part to play in keeping Wales safe.  #KeepWalesSafe
